Program Overview
The Little Trotters Basketball Program introduces young children to the game through fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities. Each class is designed to develop movement, coordination, and early basketball skills while helping children build confidence and learn how to interact in a group.
From parent-assisted classes to independent play, we guide each child step-by-step in a positive and energetic environment.
Little Trotters White (18 Months – 2 Years)
Parent & Child
Join the fun in our first introduction to basketball!
Toddlers and parents explore basic movement and ball activities together while building confidence and comfort in a group setting.
Focus Areas:
Movement, balance, and coordination
Introduction to the basketball (roll, bounce, hold)
Listening and participation
Parent-child bonding
Little Trotters Gold (Ages 2–3)
Parent & Child
This level builds on early development with more structured play and skill introduction.
Perfect for children ready to grow from the White level or those with early experience.
Focus Areas:
Basic ball handling and coordination
Listening and following simple instructions
Fun games that develop balance and rhythm
Early interaction with other children
Little Trotters Blue (Ages 3–4)
Parent Transition Class
This class helps children transition toward independence while still building confidence.
Activities are more structured and designed to encourage participation in a group setting.
Focus Areas:
Basic dribbling and movement
Following directions independently
Turn-taking and sharing
Introduction to simple basketball activities
Little Trotters Black (Ages 4–6)
Independent Play
Our fast-paced Trotters classes introduce children to basketball in a fun, high-energy environment—no parents required!
Each 45-minute session focuses on learning through play, not competition.
Focus Areas:
Dribbling, passing, and shooting basics
Coordination and footwork
Listening and teamwork
Fun, structured group activities
Little Trotters Red Big Feet (Ages 5–6 – Beginners)
Perfect for children new to basketball or still developing confidence.
Players begin learning how to apply their skills in simple game-like situations while understanding teamwork and sportsmanship.
Focus Areas:
Ball control and basic shooting
Passing and movement
Introduction to small group play
Sportsmanship and team concepts
